The three-nail design of this sterling silver crucifix is signifies not only the crucifixion of Christ but the nails by which He hung upon the cross. Adorning the cross are the corpus of Christ and above Him a scroll with the Latin inscription "INRI", ("Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum"), the abbreviation of the title written by Pontius Pilate: "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews" (John 19: 19-22).
