This three-nail and rope cross represents both the cross of the Crucifixion and the nails that pierced Christ's hands and feet. But Christians, looking to the resurrected Christ, proclaim: "By Thy Passion, O Christ, we have been set free from sufferings; and by Thy Resurrection we have been delivered from corruption; O Lord, glory to Thee!"
