The Jerusalem Cross, referred to as the "Crusaders' Cross" during the Crusades, was the symbol of the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem.  The central cross represents the person of Christ; the four smaller crosses are said to symbolize the four evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), and the directions in which the word of God spread from Jerusalem.
